[802.3_100GCU] FW: [STDS-802-3] IEEE P802.3bj 100 Gb/s Backplane and Copper Cable 2nd Sponsor recirculation ballot results
Task Force participants,
During the March 2014 plenary meeting, the IEEE 802 LMSC Executive Committee granted conditional approval to submit IEEE P802.3bj to RevCom. I am happy to inform you that, as of the close of the 2nd Sponsor recirculation ballot, the conditions have been satisfied. The attached announcement from the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group chair, David Law, includes detailed results from the ballot and a statement of his intent to submit IEEE P802.3bj to RevCom for consideration at their June 10, 2014 meeting.
There is no business to conduct during the IEEE P802.3bj Task Force interim meeting originally planned for 13th May 2014 and therefore the meeting is CANCELLED.
I offer my congratulations for reaching this significant milestone and my thanks for the effort that you have invested to make this achievement possible. I expect to provide another update on the approval of our project following the June 2014 meetings of the IEEE-SA Standards Board.
Best regards,
Adam Healey
Chair, IEEE P802.3bj 100 Gb/s Backplane and Copper Cable Task Force

Subject: [STDS-802-3] IEEE P802.3bj 100 Gb/s Backplane and Copper Cable 2nd Sponsor recirculation ballot results
Dear Colleagues,
The 2nd Sponsor recirculation ballot on the amendment IEEE P802.3bj 100 Gb/s Backplane and Copper Cable closed successfully on 30th March 2014. The ballot statistics are as follows:
109 Voters
85 Approve
1 Disapprove
4 Abstain
90 Ballots returned
0 Comments
82.6% Response Rate (>= 75% required)
4.4% Abstain Rate (< 30% required)
98.8% Approval Rate (>= 75% required)
IEEE P802.3bj received conditional approval to proceed to RevCom submittal at the March 2014 IEEE 802 Plenary meeting and since there were no new disapprove ballots, no comments submitted this project has met the conditions defined in Clause 12 'Procedure for conditional approval to forward a draft standard' of the IEEE 802 LMSC Operations Manual. The one remaining disapprove voter has no comments marked as required (Must Be Satisfied (MBS) in the myBallot system).
Based on this I will go ahead and submit IEEE P802.3bj to RevCom for consideration at their June 10th 2014 meeting and as a result of this Adam Healey, the IEEE P802.3bj Task Force chair, has cancelled the IEEE P802.3bj interim meeting that had been scheduled for 13th May 2014.
Thank you to all that participated in this ballot.
David Law
