Re: [802.3_100GEL] 6/30 Telephonic Interim - Proposed Agenda & General Series Guidance

Also, the proposed response report has been updated with a few new withdraws and corrections to references and coordinates.  See http://www.ieee802.org/3/ck/comments/index.html, so you have the most up to date file.

Lastly, I will be adding comments 107, 108, 109, 115, 116, 130, 135, 228, 191, 192, 193, 194, 196, 200, 212, and 215 to the end of the proposed agenda tomorrow.  These are additional comments to which Adee’s consensus deck walks us through the discussion.

Thanks for your understanding as we all are learning in this process.

~Beth

Gentle reminder that I will see you in about 8 hours on our telephonic interim (7am Pacific for 3 hours).

I did received an updated presentation from Adam and several consensus slide decks from the editors to aid in our discussions.  My apologies for getting these on the website sooner.

See you soon!  ~Beth

Subject: 6/30 Telephonic Interim - Proposed Agenda & General Series Guidance

Hello Everyone –

Just wanted to get this agenda out to you sooner rather than later, so you can focus your limited time for reading proposed responses and consensus building on the comments we’ll cover Tuesday.  As I’ve mentioned in the ad hocs, we’ll run the telephonic interim, somewhat different, somewhat the same from last round.

Here are some high level points to be aware of:

  • More consensus slides – these are like the decks that the editors did last time to help collect information into one place to help out discussions move along… if you have offline consensus building happening, please write it up and send them our way (generally, these will be due two business days before the call at noon PDT).
  • Subjective decisions.  All comments must be considered, but if I don’t see the consensus coming together… we’ll need to move on so we can get through the topics that we DO have consensus.
  • Presentations will again be held to 10 minutes (including clarifying Q&A) – I appreciate everyone’s respect to this last time around.
  • We may push a few “fall out comments” (comments that are answered by an agreed comment or consensus) to offline review.  This could help save us from opening up 3-10 extra comments, if the task is really just editorial to adjust the comment response to align with a closed comment.  ** I’ll explain a bit more on Tuesday
  • Lastly, I ask of you to consider allowing the editors to use liberal editorial license.  We have a lot to cover and need to make the best use of our time while we gather.

Thank you all for what you do!  I’ll see you on Tuesday!

~Beth

Subject: Announcing the Telephonic Interim Series for Draft 1.2 Comment Resolution

Hello All –

The P802.3ck Task Force will be meeting via 8 telephonic interims to resolve comments to draft 1.2 throughout June 30th-July 29th.  The series of calls will act as a single meeting: sharing webpage, minutes, agenda, etc.  The focus of these meetings will be to resolve comments made against our Draft 1.2.

Presentations providing a suggested remedy to a comment, or details of such, are due Wednesday June 17th, with no presentation request required.  Updates to said presentations and consensus presentations will have a different deadline, yet to be announced.  Any presentations made during the telephonic interims will be held to a 10 minute timeslot (including Q&A).

Please note that there is no registration requirement for this series, however attendance will be recorded and voting on motions will be by 802.3 voters only.  A calendar invite will be sent via the reflector momentarily, otherwise contact Beth if you need it sent directly to you.

The series is as follows:

Wednesday, July 22nd – 7*-10am PDT

Tuesday, July 28th – 7-10am PDT
