With this e-mail, I'd like to announce that the IEEE P802.3ck/D2.2 100 Gb/s, 200 Gb/s, and 400 Gb/s Electrical Interfaces Working Group 2nd recirculation ballot began.

Friday 17th September 2021 23:59 AOE
 

As stated in the announcement below, the ballot group for this draft is the IEEE 802.3 voting membership as of Friday 19th March 2021. All comments received before the close of ballot will be considered, the one limitation however is that if you are not a member of the balloting group, and therefore cannot cast a ballot, you cannot designate comments as TR or ER since you cannot cast a Disapprove ballot.

This is the announcement of the electronic IEEE 802.3 Working Group 2nd recirculation ballot on the Amendment IEEE P802.3ck 100 Gb/s, 200 Gb/s, and 400 Gb/s Electrical Interfaces. Remember that voting, as well as attendance, is a requirement to maintain your IEEE 802.3 member (voter) status <http://ieee802.org/3/rules/member.html#DOT3>. Instructions for accessing the draft, casting your ballot and submitting comments follow this announcement. Please review the commenting instructions below to ensure you are using the most up to date tools.

The ballot group for this draft is the IEEE 802.3 voting membership as of Friday 19th March 2021.

Because this is a recirculation ballot, YOU ONLY NEED TO CAST A BALLOT IF YOU WISH TO CHANGE YOUR VOTE FROM THAT WHICH WAS RECORDED ON THE INITIAL BALLOT OR LAST RECIRCULATION. If you voted previously and your vote has not changed, the last ballot cast will be carried over to this ballot and you do not need to cast a new ballot.

BALLOT SCOPE:
During this IEEE 802.3 Working Group 2nd recirculation ballot, the scope of the ballot is the substantive changes between IEEE P802.3ck/D2.1 and IEEE P802.3ck/D2.2 and the unsatisfied negative comments.

CRITERIA FOR STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT:
One of the responsibilities as a balloter is to ensure that draft is consistent with the criteria for standards development (CSD) responses which are available at <https://ieee802.org/3/ck/P802_3ck_CSD_06apr18.pdf>. An Approve vote indicates your agreement that the draft is consistent with the CSD responses.

TITLE:
Standard for Ethernet Amendment: Physical Layer Specifications and Management Parameters for 100 Gb/s, 200 Gb/s, and 400 Gb/s Electrical Interfaces Based on 100 Gb/s Signaling

SCOPE OF PROJECT:
This project is to specify additions to and appropriate modifications of IEEE Std 802.3 to add Physical Layer specifications and Management Parameters for 100 Gb/s, 200 Gb/s, and 400 Gb/s electrical interfaces based on 100 Gb/s signaling.

NEED FOR THE PROJECT:
The continual growth of bandwidth demand has driven evolution of higher Ethernet speeds, most recently with 100Gb/s, 200 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s Ethernet. To meet this growth, ongoing advancement in serializer and deserializer circuit (SERDES) technology to higher rates of operation enables the opportunity to develop higher density or lower cost electrical interfaces using 100 Gb/s signaling.
