Re: [10GBT] Agenda
Brad-
How much 802.3 agenda time are you planning on for on Thursday afternoon
to go through the changes from 1.4 -> 2.0 and to explain the final
values for the 13 TBDs?
....and the resultant Q & A?

Dear Task
Force members,
I'm not sure how many of you have
reviewed the number of TBDs
in the P802.3an draft, but the draft
has gone from ~200 TBDs in D1.2 to ~110 TBDs in D1.3 to 13 TBDs in D1.4.
The Task Force has made excellent progress on generating a technically
complete draft, which is the goal of Task Force review and a requirement
for Working Group ballot.
I applaud the members of the Task Force for their hard work and focused
effort. As per the approved schedule, the goal for this coming
meeting will be to request approval to submit D2.0 to Working Group
ballot. From the comments I have reviewed on D1.3 and D1.4, the
Task Force is shifting from adopting technical proposals into the draft
to making technical refinements of the draft. This is a very good
indication that the Task Force is ready to make the move to Working Group
ballot and review.
To support the schedule, the plan will be to work Tuesday and Wednesday
until all the TBDs and comments are closed. Then, the Task Force
will conclude any remaining business including decisions on generating
D2.0 and forwarding it to Working Group ballot. Upon completion of
the Task Force meeting (assuming a request to go to Working Group
ballot), the Task Force editors will use the remaining time for the
generation of D2.0 and a D1.4-to-D2.0 comparison document. In other
words, if the Task Force completes its business by noon on Wednesday,
Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning will be used by the editorial
staff to prepare for the Working Group ballot request. For all
other members of the Task Force, the time will be yours to use as you see
fit.
Thank you,
Brad
