Subject: [802.3] Geneva meeting and current voters

Colleagues:

Some have complained about broken links in earlier messages on the
Geneva meeting. As is often the case with long URLs, mail programs may
insert a line break and thus break the hot link. Sorry if this was the
case for you in the earlier message I sent. I would strongly recommend
you use the meeting information on the web site if you ever have a
problem or question (http://www.ieee802.org/3/interims/index.html)
resulting from email. Please review the information there for meeting
registration, registration for the workshop (if you are staying for it),
and where to enter for our meetings.

In announcing the WG ballot results for 802.3ax and 802.3ay, I mentioned
that approximately half of the 802.3 membership could be deleted because
of failure to meet the obligations of membership (i.e., voting on WG
ballots). The rules grant latitude to the Chair to recognize
participation in the WG as a mitigating factor. I have decided to use
that recognition of participation which results in a significantly
smaller number of individuals being removed from the member roll.
Essentially, it now is those individuals that have ignored 802.3
participation since November. Specifically it is all individuals that
have:
    1. Failed to respond as required to two of the last three WG
ballots; AND
    2. Do not have 3 days credited attendance for either Nov. or Mar.
(i.e., are not credited with having participated in either the opening
or closing 802.3 meeting at either of those plenary sessions).

The revised current voter list will be in the attendance books at
upcoming meetings as usual.

Chair, IEEE 802.3
