This is suggested as a resolution for comment 1225. It will be discussed today.

Importance: High

Gentlemen,
After having some more sleep and talking to Duane about it, this is what we
editors believe that it is a better to handle the issue with the TPs. We
propose to have two distints figures and two sets of text instead of trying
to fit that into a single more complex text.
Attached please find the pdf with the proposed changes.
Any comments are welcome.

Thanks,
Just a note in the relevant table (or above it, or in the table name) that
it is TP2 or TP6 or TP3 or TP7 or a combination TP2/TP6 or Tp3/TP7

Lior,
Thanks for noticing the issues. I read it twice and have not noticed that.
That means it is time for sleep for me.
Attached please find the file with changes.
By saying 'And as we said in the table should be added the compliance
points.' do You mean providing additional description/references to existing
PMD tables ? If so, do You think adding a new row in the table is a better
solution or placing a descriptive section before the tables ?

Hi,

First page line 12 should be PR for TP6 and 7 and not PRX.
Second page line 1 at the end should remove the upstream.

And as we said in the table should be added the compliance points.

Thanks,
Lior

Gentlemen,
Attached please find the changes to 91.2 with some text modifications and
figure modifications. All comments are welcome.

Subject: Changes to mark TPs before Figure 91-3

Need to fix the diagram
TP1 to TP4 in the DS
and then TP1/TP5
TP2/TP6
Tp3/TP7
TP4/TP8
in the US.

The text should say:
The PMD sublayer is defined at the eight reference points shown in Figure
91-3.
TP1 to TP4 which are marked in the upper part refer to the while DS while
the TP1/TP5 to TP4/TP8 refer to the US, where the first digit represents
the asymmetrical US, which matches the US testpoints TP1 to
TP4 from clause 60 and the second represent the symmetrical US.
So that for the asymmetrical case in the US - TP1/TP4 keeps the same
notation as in clause 60.
In the downstream direction and the asymmetrical upstream - Two points,
TP2 and TP3, and in the symmetrical upstream TWO points - TP6 and TP7 are
compliance points. TP1 and TP4 and TP5 and TP8 are reference points for use
by implementers. The optical transmit signal is defined at the output end
of a patch cord (TP2 for the downstream and asymmetrical upstream and
TP6
for the symmetrical upstream), between 2 m and 5 m in length, of a fiber
type consistent with the link type connected to the transmitter. Unless
specified otherwise, all transmitter measurements and tests defined in
@@91.8@@ are made at TP2 and TP6. The optical receive signal is defined at
the output of the fiber optic cabling (TP3 for the DS and asymmetrical US
and TP7 for the symmetrical US) connected to the receiver. Unless specified
otherwise, all receiver measurements and tests defined in @@91.8@@ are made
at TP3 and TP7.
The electrical specifications of the PMD service interface (TP1 and TP4 for
the DS and the asymmetrical US and TP5 and TP8 for the symmetrical
US) are not system compliance points (these are not readily testable in a
system implementation). It is expected that in many implementations, TP1,
TP4, TP5 and TP8 will be common between Clause 91 PMDs.

Put in each table the right reference point - TP2/TP6 (in each column the
relevant one) or TP3/TP7 (in each column the relevant one).
