Glad to seee this work coming together.  Two comments:

1) I think there is a good chance the worst practical situation may be quite close to the literal hand shaking of the fiber that many of us do in the lab.  That is, the occasional sudden movements while a link is being installed or when patchcords are being manipulated as other links are being worked on in a wiring closet.

2) While it is nice to consider all corners of this problem, try to avoid making things too complicated before getting to the first measurements.  I think it is really important for us to start seeing some quantitaive measurements of any real situation so we at least start seeing the frequencies we are dealing with.  In the end, one of these mechanisms is likely to be dominant, and we really won't need to know much more than order of magnitudes.  Admittedly the frequency vs magnitude of a range is important, but I encourage someone to get the first taste of the answer before setting up all the perfect connectors and shakers.
