Dear
Yu,
thank
you for task 4 meeting minute. I have one question regarding the conclusion of
loosing the input polarization information after about 3m (point 1). Since we
experienced sensible pulse changes starting from 150~200m due to input
linear polarization orientation, and assuming loosing input state after 3m, my
conclusion would be that the pulse changes should be determined in the launching
offset section, in the very first few meters. but why we never measured pulse
distortion before then at least 100 meters? Stated in a different way, we can
manage input polarization state and we see its effect on pulse shape after at
least 100 meters or more. This means polarization should be conserved for at
least such a distance otherwise the pulse distortion would be a
random variable, not related to the input polarization state, and this is NOT
the case.
Best
regards
Stefano
