For those interested, I've attached a brief summary of the STS pointer
operation. For the WIS, with a single STS-192c payload, only the
pointer value in the first STS-1 is processed. All pointer increments &
decrements are at 192 byte granularity.
The key point is that a continuous bit stream is passed between the
64B/66B encoder/decoder & the WIS. Any pointer activity is transparent
to the WIS client.
