You addressed your question to Petar, but since you copied me as
well, I will use that as an excuse to put in my two cents worth.
My opinion is that the current spreadsheet model, suitably modified
as we have been doing, is more than adequate to model 10 GbE links.
There are some useful refinements which we have not incorporated
"officially" yet, but these are not difficult to add.

The possible exception is the use of multi-level modulation schemes,
which I haven't really thought too much about.  In any case, it does
not look as thought such schemes will be part of the standard, at
least at this time, so this may not matter.
