Based on 1000BASE-X work, the P802.3ae Task Force may need to specify
certain delay constraints for 10GBASE-X. 1000BASE-X specifies delay
constraints for both full and half duplex modes. Clearly, the delay
constraints for half-duplex mode are not applicable.
The objectives of 10GBASE-X delay constraints may be the same or
different from those of 1000BASE-X. For 1000BASE-X, the full duplex
objective was predictable flow control (pause control) operation.
Do you have any suggestions for delay constraint objectives and/or
proposed specifications for 10GBASE-X?
