RE: [802.3ae] XAUI spec for far-end load

Yu,

In response to your questions:

1) 47.4.2 of D3.1 references 47.3.3 (not 47.7.3) where the load is defined.

2) Both the source and load impedances must be specified to uniquely specify
the signal characteristics. 47.3.4.1 intentionally states the signal source
impedance. The load impedance is specified in 47.3.3. Please call me if this
explanation is still not clear.

Subject: [802.3ae] XAUI spec for far-end load

Dear Editor,

1) Refering to IEEE Draft P802.3ae/D3.1, subclause 47.4.2, on page 345,
it is said "the far-end load for the compliance link is specified in
4.7.3.", I could not find that specification. Could you point out?

2) In Subclause 47.3.4.1, on page 340, it is said "Reference input
signals satisfy the far-end template given in Figure 47-10 and Table
47-4 when the signal source impedance is 100ohm +/- 5% ..." Should not
"signal source impedance" actually be "receiver input impedance"?

Thank you for your attention.
