Copper Ad Hoc Conference Call Meeting Minutes- Friday (June 25^th)

 Presentations were reviewed in support of straw proposal objectives.

 Straw objectives:

1. The copper ad hoc membership (those who raised their hands in Idaho) support the following objectives for higher speed copper.

• Equipment room - short copper @10 gb/s minimum length of 10 meters.
• Horizontal Cabling - long copper @ a minimum of 2.5 gb/s on a minimum length of 100 meters of category 6 cabling.

Drew A. Plant (HP) - Equipment Room Copper Cable Proposal

Rick Walker (HP) - 10GbE over Coaxial cable

Bill Woodruff (GiGA North America)- Equalizers for 2.5Gb/s over copper

Rich Taborek (Transcendata)- 10 GbE CX - Short Haul Copper

John kincaid (Belden) - Discussion material on category 6 (installed base,channel capacity)

Current Status:

Ad hoc supports a copper solution with a minimum length of 10 meters.

Copper Ad Hoc Supports HSSG Motion-

to adopt an objective to provide a Physical Layer specifications which supports

 a link distance of at least 10m on copper cable
