Dan,
The Montreal July 99 motion was for short-haul copper
@~10 Gb/s minimum length of 10 meters. Based on discussions
both during and after the motion the minimum length of 10 meters
as an objective limited the appeal for a copper solution.
A longer minimum length would broaden the support and
also enable any subsequent motions for copper to be
different than the failed motion.
