1. TMS
Jonathan would like this group to make a proposal covering the subject
matter of the TMS proposal sent by David Kabal, basing our proposal on our
customers' requirements, and relating to clause 20?22?45? I thought it
might be difficult to present our customers' requirements. David Kabal and
Brian Yunker would try to show their draft comment against the next draft
standard, by the end of this week.
2. Jitter experimental
The jitter added by fibre has to be considered case by case, per wavelength.
We thought the 1550 scenario would have significant deterministic jitter
added and this was closely related to the dispersion penalty measurement.
At other wavelengths, MMF could add jitter. There was a long discussion of
test equipment needed; more enquiries to be done off line.
