From serial PMD call, 27 Feb. Next call at usual # but 15 min. later

1.	State of the standard
Our clause, 52, has attracted 259 comments, of which about half are
editorial. This clause has the most comments, but there is some duplication
within them. We hope to build a draft 2.2, with the non-contentious
editorial changes made, by Monday 5 March (!!).

2.	Jitter
This section is not in such good shape as the rest of the clause; I don't
believe were are in a "these PMDs won't work" situation, more one of detail
that needs sorting. Some of the text in draft 2.1 does not yet have a
mandate and needs voting, (for or against). Waiting for Bill Reysen's
report from jitter meeting. Note the overlap with Clause 49 (patterns
especially). Jonathan and Tom volunteered to progress parts of the
subclause in the next days.

3.	Clock tolerance: 20ppm vs. 100 ppm
We believe this choice, though discussed, is not resolved. Although the
spec. appears in clause 52, the PMD doesn't care. Needs to be resolved
elsewhere.

4.	850 nm launch conditions
FOTP2.2 have agreed their position; expect presentation from Mike Hackert.

Next meeting

especially this hour, is a particularly busy time.
