XAUI effect of RJ on effective DJ
Folks - during the XAUI call 2 weeks ago (4/4/01), I took a couple of action
items. Here is the second one.
To make this easier on myself, please refer to Fibre Channel document
99-464v0.
That document presents the concept of effective (or equivalent) dual-Dirac
DJ and effective RJ and compares them with pk-pk DJ and rms RJ. There are
several examples therein that show how effective DJ is reduced from pk-pk DJ
when RJ is added, and effective RJ is slightly higher than when there is no
DJ. Specifically, see pages 8 and 13 for graphical
examples.
In all cases, TJ should not change. That is, the pk-pk convolution of
effective DJ with effective RJ is the same as the pk-pk convolution of the
actual DJ and RJ distributions.
Note - 99-464v0 refers to dual-Dirac DJ as DCD. DCD is a high-frequency
example of dual-Dirac DJ, but probably not the best term to have used...
Sorry if it leads to any confusion.
