Re: 8B/10B code patterns.



Folks - I discovered the spreadsheet I sent before has a mistake in the 10B disparity columns. It is fixed in this version, so discard the previous send. Cell F2 (red) defines the initial running disparity and must be entered manually as "+" or "-". The rest of the 10B pattern will respond appropriately.

As you know, but just to restate it, the 8B level knows nothing about disparity, so programming at the 8B level will not set 10B disparity one way or the other. Disparity gets set only at the 10B level, determined by frame requirements and/or previous data.
