[802.3_1PPODL] 1PPoDL comments and Wednesday schedule

All -

We received one comment against our objectives (nothing against the PAR or 5C), and I have drafted a response - see attached. I don't believe there is any work required to close this comment, so PoDL will not meet tomorrow. If anyone has any questions, I'll be available by email or I'll be in the RTPGE room all day.

We will meet Thursday morning at 8:30 in Reunion F (down at the lobby level). We'll go over my roadmap presentation and then the 4P group will join us for a presentation about cable heating (optional for 1P).

See you all at 8:30 Thursday morning in Reunion F -

> 2) 802.3bu--why didn't the WG specify a target power limit in the PAR or 5C? E.g., the 802.3bt 5C specified a power limit.
> 3) 802.3bt--what is the purpose of the content free "additional page" page 7 in the 5C? delete

> David Law forwarded your comment about the 802.3bu objectives. We left a power objective out for a couple of reasons: the 802.3bp channel (which we intend to operate over) doesn't yet have a wire gauge defined; and I anticipate that 802.3bu will operate over more than one channel, likely with different voltage and current capabilities. Our automotive attendees haven't nailed down an operating voltage, either - for all these reasons we can't yet commit to a global power limit.
>
> Our third objective compels us to develop voltage and current specs (and thus power) for each of our initial target markets, and the fourth objective compels us to stay within industry-established limits, so we do have to get the work done.

> I'm happy to discuss this more, via email or phone if you prefer: 805-680-0816. I will be in Dallas starting Sunday night, so we could go over it there as well.
