Overview:

  • As previously announced, the IEEE P802.3ds Task Force will meet face-to-face 
    • PM1 & PM2 time slots (1:15 PM - 6:00 PM CEST, UTC +2), on Tuesday, 12 May 2026 and  
    • PM1 & PM2 time slots (1:15 PM - 6:00 PM CEST, UTC +2), on Wednesday, 13 May 2026 
    • During the IEEE 802.3 May 2026 Interim session (11-15 May) in Munich, Germany, with remote access (provided on a best effort basis).  
    • Details regarding the IEEE 802.3 (and 802.1) Interim meeting and registration can be found at 
    • Please note that registration and payment of the registration fee are required for all individuals who participate (in-person or virtual participation) in this P802.3ds TF meeting and in all meetings during the IEEE 802.3 May 2026 Interim session. 
    • The meeting invite will follow this email.
  • The agenda includes: resolving comments against the initial TF review draft, D1.0, considering presentations related to meeting the TF Objectives, adopting a 1060 nm baseline, and reviewing updates on new MMF liaised from IEC fiber standards.   
  • Requests for presentation time must be made by Friday, 1 May 2026 AOE. Please send the presentation request to me at mabudchoudhury@ieee.org and Cc Guangcan Mi at miguangcan@xxxxxxxxxx, per the presentation procedures https://ieee802.org/3/ds/public/presentproc.html (but following the deadline above)

Presentations supporting the above agenda are highly recommended. For the May interim P802.3ds TF meeting, requests for presentation time shall be made by Friday, 1 May 2026 AOE . The contributor shall provide the following information:
  • Name of contributor
  • Title of contribution
  • Length of time requested (this should include time for questions and answers)
  • Brief description of the topic
The presenter shall email a PDF soft copy of the presentation to me at  mabudchoudhury@ieee.org and Cc Guangcan Mi at miguangcan@xxxxxxxxxx by Tuesday, 5 May 2026 AOE   . Please make sure that page numbers are included in your presentation.

As a reminder, please make sure that all requests for presentations or submissions of presentation material have no restrictive notices at the bottom of the email. All such emails will be refused, and requests/presentations will not be acknowledged.  

It will be greatly appreciated if presenters review their presentations to verify that they have followed the cited Presentation Style Guidelines.

To support the web site search tool used by the IEEE P802.3 website, the 'Document Information' fields of the PDF file must be completed as follows:       
  • Title: Title of presentation       
  • Author: Name(s) of author(s) & affiliation(s)      
  • Subject:  IEEE P802.3ds 200 Gb/s per Wavelength MMF PHYs Task Force
Presentations that do not have the fields properly filled out will not be accepted.

Regarding Relative Cost Analysis       
  • Presentations addressing relative cost analysis may require IEEE Risk management review if individuals do not follow guidelines provided in IEEE SA Anti-trust policy available at http://standards.ieee.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/antitrust.pdf.   ·       
  • Further information about the IEEE 802.3 cost discussion can be found in “Presentation on Cost Discussions to IEEE 802.3 Working Group” (See https://www.ieee802.org/3/100GNGOPTX/public/may12/lindsay_01_0512_optx.pdf). ·       
  • Please note that such an IEEE Risk management review can take up to ~30 days. Individuals not budgeting sufficient time for review may have presentations scheduled for later meetings to allow these reviews.
