[802.3_200GMMF] Announcement: IEEE P802.3ds TF August/September 2026 Session: 26 August, 3 & 8 September electronic teleconference, 15 September Interim/Lisbon, 29 & 30 September contingent electronic teleconference

Dear IEEE P802.3ds Task Force Participants,

The IEEE P802.3ds 200 Gb/s per Wavelength MMF PHYs Task Force will hold a session in August/September 2026 consisting of:

• Electronic teleconference meeting on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, on Thursday, 3 September 2026, and on Tuesday, 8 September from 10 AM to 1 PM EDT (UTC -4) on all three days. Registration and meeting fees for the electronic teleconference meetings on 26 August, 3 and 8 September 2026 are not required. These meeting days do not count toward IEEE 802.3 Working Group voting membership.
• Face-to-face meeting during the IEEE 802 September 2026 Interim session in Lisbon, Portugal, on Tuesday, 15 September from 8:00 AM to 12:15 PM WEST (UTC +1), covering AM1 and AM2 sessions. Details regarding meeting and registration for the IEEE 802.3 September 2026 Interim may be found at  https://ethernetalliance.org/ieee-802-1-802-3-september-2026-interim-session/ . Please note that registration and payment of the registration fee are required for all individuals participating in the 15 September meeting (in-person or virtual). Remote access will be provided on a best effort basis. The 15 September meeting counts towards IEEE 802.3 Working Group voting membership.
• Contingent electronic teleconference meeting days are scheduled for Tuesday, 29 September 2026 and Wednesday, 30 September 2026, from 9 AM to 1 PM EDT (UTC -4) on both days. Registration and meeting fees for the electronic teleconference meetings on 29 and 30 September 2026 are not required. These meeting days do not count toward IEEE 802.3 Working Group voting membership.

The Draft Agenda for the August/September 2026 Session will be:

• Closing TBDs in TF drafts, optimally with supporting contributions and with consensus building. This applies to all meeting days starting 26 August.
• Consideration of comments submitted during the 3rd Task Force review, D1.2, and supporting contributions. This applies to all meeting days starting with the 3 September meeting day.

 Note - Any presentation requests not addressing comments against the draft will be heard pending time availability.

 

Presentation Deadlines and Procedures

For the 26 August meeting day only:

Requests for presentation time for 26 August meeting day must be made by Friday 21 August 2026 AOE. Please send the presentation request to me at mabudchoudhury@xxxxxxxx and Cc Guangcan Mi at miguangcan@xxxxxxxxxx, per the presentation procedures https://ieee802.org/3/ds/public/presentproc.html (but following the deadline above)

The presenter shall email a PDF, soft-copy version of the presentation to me at  mabudchoudhury@xxxxxxxx and Cc Guangcan Mi at miguangcan@xxxxxxxxxx by Monday, 24 August 2026, 5 PM EDT (UTC -4). Please review the Procedure for Presenters web page:  https://ieee802.org/3/ds/public/presentproc.html

Regarding Relative Cost Analysis

Presentations addressing relative cost analysis may require IEEE Risk management review if individuals do not follow guidelines provided in IEEE SA Anti-trust policy available at http://standards.ieee.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/antitrust.pdf.   

Further information about IEEE 802.3 cost discussion can be found in “Presentation on Cost Discussions to IEEE 802.3 Working Group” (See https://www.ieee802.org/3/100GNGOPTX/public/may12/lindsay_01_0512_optx.pdf). 

Please note that such IEEE Risk management review can take up to ~30 days. Individuals not budgeting sufficient time for review may have presentations scheduled for later meetings to allow these reviews.
