IEEE 802.3 400 Gb/s/Lane Signaling Study Group

On 13 March 2026, the IEEE 802 LMSC chartered a Study Group under the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group to develop a Project Authorization Request (PAR) and Criteria for Standards Development (CSD) responses for "400 Gb/s per lane signaling for electrical interconnects as well as single-mode fiber optical interconnects with reaches up to 500 meters".
