Dear Task Force Participants, This email is to inform the Task Force of the email below from Mark Nowell, chair of the 50G/NGOATH SGs, reminding the group of a survey he is running regarding objectives for the two Study Groups. Please take a moment to review this survey. Please note that Question 22 asks the following – 22. I would support having the following objectives (if adopted) being included into the P802.3bs (400GbE Task Force) since they are variants of the work already being consider by that Task Force (Chicago Rules - pick as many as you like): 100 Gb/s Ethernet SMF objectives 200 Gb/s Ethernet SMF objectives I would not support any objectives being added to the P802.3bs Task Force Given this question, you may wish to participate in this straw poll. Please note that this question is in scope for the two Study Groups, and this email is to merely inform you of it. Please keep any conversations related to this straw poll on the Study Group reflector. As a reminder if you have not done so already, given the on-going conversations, you may wish to join the reflector for the two study groups. For information about subscribing to the reflector, please see http://www.ieee802.org/3/50G/reflector.html. Regards, John D’Ambrosia Chair, IEEE P802.3bs 400GbE Task Force From: Mark Nowell (mnowell) [mailto:mnowell@xxxxxxxxx] I’m sending a reminder on the 50 Gb/s and NGOATH Objectives straw poll in Survey Monkey as many people may have been heading off for a break around the time this was sent initially. The survey is open until Jan 4th @ noon ET. Happy New Year to everyone! Mark From: Mark Nowell <mnowell@xxxxxxxxx> Dear Colleagues, I presented a set of potential objectives for the study groups at this week’s ad hoc meeting: The goal of the presentation was to share a full list of potential objectives to the study groups and to allow people to discuss, provide comments and to encourage people to pull together contributions in support for (or against) various proposals. I’d offered to send out a Survey Monkey poll to allow us to anonymously gather some feedback on the list presented. The results will help us focus our work towards building consensus on a full set of objectives to be adopted. The survey is now live and can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JQ3GL8R I expect that many will be having holidays or shutdowns around now, so my plan is to keep the survey open until Mon Jan 4th @ noon ET. I will report out the results at the ad hoc on Wed Jan 6th. Regards…Mark 50Gb/s Ethernet Study Group Acting-Chair Next Generation 100Gb/s and 200 Gb/s Ethernet (NGOATH) Study Group Acting Chair |
