Dear BS colleagues, Sorry that I unable to actually give my presentation at yesterday’s SMF ad hoc. I could hear everybody loud and clear, but apparently the return path (microphone) was disrupted. Thanks a lot to Pete Anslow for introducing my presentation. I suggest we work towards a next version of the baseline to be discussed at the next SMF Ad Hoc on 3 May. So if you have any further question/comment/suggestion until then, please let me know. I also would appreciate any _expression_ of support, so that we can work towards a consensus presentation at the May meeting in Whistler, so that we will be able to adopt a 200G optical baseline in May. Some further clarification to Mark Nowell’s question on the “relaxation” compared to the 400G specifications. Pete provided some verbal clarification, but maybe it is useful to repeat it. Assuming a loss of 3 dB for 8:1 and 1:8 optical mux and demux and a loss of 2 dB for 4:1 and 1:4 optical mux and demux (working assumptions from our last year’s discussions in BS). Let’s take the 400GBASE-FR8 receiver sensitivity of -7dBm OMAinner per lane. This is before demux, implying -10dBm after demux. If for 200G we relax that to -9.5dBm (after demux), then before the demux we will have -7.5 dBm. It looks more stringent than 400G but actually is 0.5 dB less stringent at the physical receiver. Thanks for your further inputs comments. Kind regards, Peter Peter Stassar, 施笪安
