Dear Study Group Members,
Presentations for the March Meeting of the IEEE 40GE SMF PMD Study Group have been uploaded to the Study Group website. For the general meeting material, please see http://www.ieee802.org/3/40GSMF/public/mar10/index.html
We have a short meeting duration due to the excellent progress made in New Orleans. The focus of this meeting will be to review the work from New Orleans and to support its adoption by the 802.3 WG at the closing plenary on Thursday.
We will have a short meeting on Wednesday morning starting @ 9-12. I do not expect to use the full 3 hrs. We will review the status of our progress and also have a chance to respond to any feedback from other groups who have reviewed our project documentation. Since we have largely completed our work as a study group and are not yet a Task Force, there will be limited meeting time for technical proposal review. Those are expected to begin in May interim. However, I strongly encourage members to have these discussions during the week to facilitate consensus.
Since our SG meeting is so short, attendance at this meeting alone will not qualify you for meeting attendance for 802.3 voting rights. Please see the email recently sent by Adam Healey with pointers on checking your voting status.
The 802.3 closing plenary on Thursday afternoon where the study groups project approval request will be discussed and voted on. Please be aware of this as it may affect your travel plans.
I look forward to seeing everyone in Orlando, and wish everyone safe travels.
Best Regards,
Mark Nowell
