Brad
The 400Gbase-FR8/LR8 based on 8 lanes will satisfy the high value Router and OTN markets, where this market is perfectly happy with CFP8 form factor. The 400GbE market will follow similar deployment progression to 100 GbE starting with larger CFP8 form factor. Recall that 4 years ago the end user/carrier were asking us for 1 TbE, today the best we can do is 400 GbE and to implement 2/km10 km reaches we need 8 temperature stablized wavelength. I also understand that you are willing to confine and constrain your network based on PSM4, but number of other data centers operator favor duplex CWDM4 and I doubt they would be willing to pay for FR8/LR8! It is great to see that you want more bandwidth unfortunatly we have not yet figured-out how to deliver 3rd generation 400 GbE solution on day one!
