[802.3_B10GAUTO] B10GAUTO Study Group teleconference interim Monday, 18 May, 2020, 7:00-9:00AM PDT (07h00 PDT, 08h00 MDT, 09h00 CDT, 10h00 EDT, 15h00 BST, 16h00 CEST, 19h30 IST, 22h00 CST, 23h00 JST)

Colleagues,

This study group interim meeting is to respond to comments on the draft
P802.3cy PAR and CSD documents from other IEEE 802 Working Groups and to
discuss the process towards Task Force approval.

Please see http://www.ieee802.org/3/email_dialog/msg01042.html for details
on the PAR approval process. In addition, David Law has given us guidance
on voting at Study Group meetings:

?Dear Colleagues,

This is the announcement of registration to vote at IEEE 802.3 Study Group
telephonic interim meetings.
With the cancellation of the March 2020 IEEE 802 plenary meeting, the IEEE
802.3 Working Group agreed to suspend two requirements in the IEEE 802.3
Operations Manual that permitted IEEE 802.3 Study Groups and Task Forces to
hold telephonic interim meetings to consider motions. Subclause 3.4.2
'Voting' with respect to IEEE 802.3 Task Force telephonic interim meetings
includes the requirement 'In such meetings only IEEE 802.3 Working Group
members may make and vote on motions. If a motion is not approved by
unanimous consent it shall be taken as a roll call vote.'.

With respect to IEEE 802.3 Study Group telephonic interim meetings,
subclause 4.4 'Study Group Operation' states that 'Study groups follow the
operating procedures for Task Forces specified above with the following
exceptions.', subclause 4.4.1 'Voting at Study Group Meetings' states 'Any
person attending a Study Group meeting may participate in SG discussions,
make motions and vote on all motions (including recommending approval of a
PAR and five criteria) if the person feels qualified to do so.'.

As a result, I want to clarify that any person attending an IEEE 802.3 Study
Group telephonic interim meeting may vote, however the requirement to
conduct a roll call vote if a motion is not approved by unanimous consent
stands. Due to the latter, and the ability for anybody attending an IEEE
802.3 Study Group telephonic interim meeting to vote, I'm announcing that
IEEE 802.3 Study Group telephonic interim meetings will include registration
to attend that will close twenty-four hours before the meeting start time.
This will enable the IEEE 802.3 Study Group Chair to build a roll in
preparation for possible roll call votes during the interim.
Details on how to register for an IEEE 802.3 Study Group telephonic interim
meeting will be announced by the IEEE 802.3 Study Group Chair.

Best regards,
  David?

We are currently working out the details of registration using the Zoom tool
and I will update you when registration opens. A place holder meeting is on
the IEEE 802.3 calendar at http://www.ieee802.org/3/calendar.html

Regards,
Steve
