All,
Given my presentation (https://www.ieee802.org/3/df/public/22_02/dambrosia_3df_01_220222.pdf) at the Feb session, I want to make sure everyone is aware of recent data presented into the IEEE P802.3cw Task Force exploring interoperability of coherent 400ZR implementations.
As noted in the unapproved minutes –
There seemed to be general agreement that a lumped TQM (e.g. EVM) would be the preferred approach to support scaling to high volume deployments and allowing tradeoff of individual parameters to meet the desired performance.
As noted in the Feb session I am planning on drafting a proposed response to the OIF regarding the 800G Coherent Project. Given the discussion in IEEE P802.3cw, in this proposed response I intend to inquire about the development status or thoughts of a lumped TQM in the 800ZR project.
Regards,
John D’Ambrosia
Chair, IEEE P802.3df Task Force
