All,
As I announced last week - it has become obvious that it is potentially
possible for the IEEE P802.3df project to progress faster than our adopted
timeline.  To that end, I have requested Mr. Law initiate the formation of
the Standards Association Ballot for the ballot group.   See below.

Prior to the 16th July deadline, there will be holidays and we will have our
plenary week meeting.  Therefore, please take care of this right away.

Draft standards within the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group pass through
two balloting cycles, first through IEEE 802.3 Working Group Ballot, then
through Standards Association Ballot. If you wish to take part in the
Standards Association Ballot of the IEEE P802.3df 400 Gb/s and 800 Gb/s
Ethernet draft, please follow the instructions found below. Please note that
you must join the ballot group by Sunday 16 July 2023, 23:59 AoE.

ENROLMENT INSTRUCTIONS
----------------------

To participate, you must have access to myProject through an IEEE Web
Account <https://www.ieee.org/about/help/my-account/web-account.html>. This
is the same IEEE Web Account you would use to access the IEEE attendance
tool.

If you are an IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) member:

Follow this process:
1. Log onto myProject; click the link:
<https://development.standards.ieee.org/myproject-web/app#>.
2. Click on "Menu" in the top right; click on "Invitations/Ballots"; click
on the "Open Invitations Panel"

3. Scroll down until you find IEEE P802.3df (if you cannot see IEEE P802.3df
please click the 'All Invitations' button); click on the "Join Ballot Group"
icon under the heading "Ballot Invitations". 
4. Click "Join The Ballot"; enter your affiliation(s); click "Select
Classification"; confirm your affiliation(s); select your classification
category, and click "Submit". You will receive an on-screen confirmation
that you successfully joined the group.

If you are not an IEEE-SA Member:

You can either enrol in this single ballot by paying a per ballot fee or you
can join the IEEE-SA by choosing one of the three options below. Joining the
IEEE-SA entitles you to participate in as many Standards Association ballots
as you like for the year. 

OPTION 1 - Add IEEE-SA membership to existing IEEE Membership OPTION 2 -
Join as both IEEE and IEEE-SA member.
OPTION 3 - Join as an IEEE-SA Member only.

disqualify you from participating in future ballots.
