[802.3_B400G] [802.3dj] Previewed straw polls from 17 July task force meeting

The track chairs previewed the following straw polls in the 17 July Task Force meeting.  These polls were not discussed by the Task Force.  The language shown was not intended to be the final version.

I support addressing the de-skew issue for 800GbE/1.6TbE Inner FEC (Clause 177) identified in dudek_3dj_01_0724
 
 
To address the de-skew issue for 800GbE/1.6TbE Inner FEC (Clause 177) identified in dudek_3dj_01_0724, the de-skew function should be documented in:
  1. Within Clause 177 Inner FEC sublayer (option 2 in dudek_3dj_01_0724)
  2. Within Clause 176 SM-PMA sublayer (option 3 in dudek_3dj_01_0724)
  3. Need more information
 
 
CR/KR COM parameter topic:
========
I would support putting the COM parameter values eta_0 and d_w and the editors note for CR and KR (per lusted_3dj_06a_2407, slides 6-7) into the P802.3dj draft specification

PCB Host topic:
=======
I would support the approach presented in ran_3dj_01_2407, of having a specific combination of package and PCB length per CR host class
A: Yes, with the PCB parameters in the presentation
B: Yes but with modified PCB parameters to create 1.1 dB/inch
C: No
D: Abstain
 
 
I would prefer the combination of package and PCB length as follows:
A: Shorter package trace and longer PCB trace, with C0=0 (similar to option 1 in ran_3dj_01_2407)
B: Longer package trace and shorter PCB trace, with C0=0 (similar to option 2 in ran_3dj_01_2407)
C: Shorter package trace and longer PCB trace, with C0≠0 (similar to option 3 in ran_3dj_01_2407)
D: Longer package trace and shorter PCB trace, with C0≠0 (similar to option 4 in ran_3dj_01_2407)
E: Abstain
 
 
MTF Topic:
======
I would support adoption of values for 179A.5 TBDs in diminico_3dj_01a_0724.pdf slide 7 for MTF and TP0d-TP2, TP3-TP5d.
