All,
I want to take this moment to recognize the accomplishments of this week –
First of all, all 436 comments submitted against IEEE P802.3dj D1.2 were addressed. This is the result of
1. The preparations of the Task Force Chairs working in combination with their Track Lead Editors and other track editors.
2. The commenters themselves, as well as those who worked on presentations addressing these comments.
3. The work of all of the meeting participants this week to work towards consensus on the responses.
Thanks to everyone for making this happen!
In completing our consideration of all comments against D1.2, the contingent meetings announced for next week. This accomplishment allows the editorial team to start generation of D1.3, a week earlier. From my discussions with the Track Chairs and Editors, the general thought was that we resolved a significant number of TBDs this week, which moves us closer towards a technically complete document, and requesting to progress to Working Group Ballot.
As noted, the newly adopted timeline of the project is aggressive - https://www.ieee802.org/3/dj/projdoc/timeline_3dj_241114.pdf. However, with the commitment and dedication shown this week, I am confident we will meet it!
Please note that Kent and I are working to assure that all updates to presentations given this week have been uploaded. Your patience is appreciated.
Regards,
John D’Ambrosia
Chair, IEEE P802.3dj Task Force
