Dear colleagues, IEEE 802.3 WG approved today the motions of SG DMLT to become a Task Group (TG). Next step will be that the IEEE 802EC approves the IEEE 802.3br project. Thanks to the contributors of the project documents to make this happen. We will get rid of the name DMLT and the new name is: TG IEEE 802.3br = Interspersed Express Traffic (IET). Assuming that the other committees also will approve the project, I ask you provide active contributions before the next interim meeting:
http://www.ieee802.org/3/interims/index.html. The new TG 802.3br will meet Monday 20th and Tuesday 21th January 2014. To held the TG IET meeting Monday and Tuesday will allow people
to join the IEEE 802.3br and the IEEE 802.1TSN even these TGs will meet on different locations (ca. 1h driving) but 802.1 will start later this week. There will be an additional web-site and reflector for the TG. I guess these will be established in early December 2013. Please send in your presentation of proposals and related topics for the January 2014 interim according to the rules given in
http://www.ieee802.org/3/DMLT/public/presentproc.html. The main task in January interim will be to work on the base line for the .3br amendment.
To speed up the work, I would like to get feedback whether you would attend an additional interim meeting in the week of 2014-02-10 (2 or 3 days within this
week). If so, what would be your preferred location? (If your answer is your home-town, then I expect that you will host the meeting
J). If the location is for example Korea, California or Germany, I will find a host in that area.
As I have to announce the interim 30 days in advance, that means before the interim, I have to get your feedback end of November 2013. Mit freundlichen Gruessen / With best regards, Chair of IEC SC65C/WG17
