Hi, As a follow up to the information provided by Pat about the 802.1 MACsec progress, they have had a meeting and have had consensus how to fix the problem. Below an excerpt of
the meeting minutes from Mick where topic 3 is relevant for us: Attendees: Karen Randall Brian Weis Tony Jeffree James McIntosh Sue Leicht Mike Boyle Peter Jones Michael Waldo Mick Seaman (802.1 Security Task Group Chair, minutes of this meeting) Agenda items, as previously circulated with the meeting announcement: 1. P802.1ARce progression 2. P802.1AEcg progression 3. 802.3 preemption and MACsec 4. A.O.B -- The chair showed the Patent Policy slides and issued a call for patents. There were no responses to the call at this time. 1. P802.1ARce: The editor had not done any work on P802.1ARce since the November meeting. 2. P802.1AEcg: The proposed approach to preemption, covering as it does retention of the strict replay capability across provider network services, falls naturally into the scope of P802.1AEcg. See item 3 for further discussion. 3. Mick introduced the document http://www.ieee802.org/1/files/public/docs2014/ae-seaman-preemption-1114-v03.pdf There was general discussion on the proposed approach to priority, which appeared to meet with consensus. Text for Annex Q of 802.1Qbu, following up in Brian Weis' task group ballot comment was discussed. 4. Mit freundlichen Gruessen / With best regards,
