Colleagues,

Registration and group hotel reservations are now open for the May Interim scheduled for May 23-27, 2016 at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, BC, Canada, hosted by the Ethernet Alliance. As always, please book your hotel early to ensure availability.

New eTA requirement for non-U.S. visa-exempt citizens
Citizenship and Immigration Canada has informed us of a new regulation affecting visitors to Canada: Starting March 15, 2016, visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Exceptions include U.S. citizens and foreign nationals with a valid visa.

To apply for an eTA you must have a valid passport, a credit card, and email address. The cost is $7 CAD and your eTA will be valid for up to five years. You do NOT need an invitation letter or any documentation from the meeting planner. Please apply here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta-start.asp

Traditional visas
Visitors from countries requiring visas should request an invitation letter from the meeting planner as soon as possible, as visa processing can be slow. Please register for the meeting using the link above, and then request your letter using the link on the meeting page.

Determining whether you need an eTA or visa
All foreign meeting attendees who are not U.S. citizens should check this page to determine what documentation will be required to visit Canada: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp

Steve
