Hi, To my knowledge the “periodically repeating pattern with repetition period of 16384” described in the paragraph “55.3.4 PMA training side-stream scrambler polynomials”, is not used in any 10GBASE-T program. Please reply to this reflector,
if you use this mode in 10GBASE-T. For background information: In the 40GBASE-T standard we are proposing a change to the “periodically repeating pattern” to make it more usable for the link-up sequence. The change is to stop resetting the scrambler, when reaching the
state PBO exchange. This allows the scrambler generated training sequence to be more spectrally rich.
The CTS mode, where the scrambler is not reset and which 10GBASE-T PHYs use now, will not be changed. Thank you, German Feyh Broadcom Corporation |
