Dear Colleagues, The August 28th contingent interim for IEEE P802.3bz has been cancelled. Please see the recent email containing sponsor ballot results for additional details. Dave Dear Colleagues, Final responses to comments received on IEEE P802.3bz D3.2 are posted here: http://www.ieee802.org/3/bz/comments/8023bz_D32_approved.pdf During comment resolution the task force accepted the proposal to change the draft title to be more representative of the draft content and PAR scope. As a result we will generate D3.3 for recirculation and plan a contingent interim for
August. I have included the comment and remedy below for easy reference. Comment: Title of standard leaves out that this standard establishes Media Access Control parameters for 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps networks. Users of future 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps standards may not realize that MAC parameters are established here.
Suggested Remedy: Change title from: "Standard for Ethernet Amendment: Physical Layer and Management Parameters for 2.5 Gb/s and 5 Gb/s Operation, Types 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T" to: "Standard for Ethernet Amendment: Media Access Control Parameters, Physical
Layers and Management Parameters for 2.5 Gb/s and 5 Gb/s Operation, Types 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T" Change on P1 L13, P10 L5, and P23 L6
TF Resolution: ACCEPT. IEEE P802.3bz August’16 Contingent Interim Announcement As discussed at the IEEE 802.3 July'16 plenary meeting, IEEE P802.3bz will hold a contingent interim meeting August 25, 2016 in order to advance
the draft toward our target of September’16 completion. This meeting is for the purpose of resolving comments on P802.3bz draft 3.3. As a contingent interim, this meeting may be cancelled if not needed
for resolution of comments received on D3.3 during sponsor ballot recirculation. Attending by teleconference WILL be an option for this meeting. Guidelines for contingent 802.3 meetings are listed here:
