[802.3_OMEGA] December meetings
Colleagues,
It looks like for presentations it is either feast or famine. We had famine with no presentation requests for our cancelled 1 December meeting, and I have now received presentations requests for our 15 December meeting with estimated time exceeding the time available. That complicates planning our year end (Gregorian calendar) meetings.
Expecting that we will need additional time for all the presentations, we have the option to schedule an additional meeting. So, please note that we may call a meeting for 22 December at our typical time. I have also received suggestions that we might want to meet the 22nd rather than on the 29th. My first post university employer was Burroughs Corp., headquartered in Detroit, and Burroughs followed the example of US auto makers with a shutdown from Christmas eve through New Year’s Day. That request to move the 29th meeting reminded me of that year-end schedule and caused me to wonder if some of our participants have such schedules and would prefer to not meet on the 29th.
Bottom line, flexibility on meeting schedules may be required for the end of this month.
