All, Based on feedback, I changed the following text in the proposal. It is highlighted in yellow in the attached PDF. Please let me know if there are any questions or issues. Brett Changed: " The PN sequence generator shall be reset upon entering into TRANSMIT DISABLE state, or whenever sync_tx_mode value changes to SEND_S from SEND_Z. If the PN sequence generator reset is executed, all bits of the 8-bit shift register may be set to arbitrary values except for all zeros." To: "The PN sequence generator shift registers shall be reset to a non-zero value upon entering into TRANSMIT DISABLE state. The receiver should not assume a continuous PN sequence is provided between separate periods of SEND_S." -----Original Message----- From: Brett McClellan [mailto:bmc@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, March 10, 2015 1:23 AM To: STDS-802-3-RTPGE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [802.3_RTPGE] proposed text for 97.6 Link Synchronization Attached is proposed text for section 97.6 Link Synchronization. I believe this addresses the comments from myself and Mike Tu and provides a clean break between Link Synchronization and the PMA/PCS. Please review and provide feedback. Regards, Brett
