[802.3_SPMD] FW: 802.3da/dg update for January

See the message from George as Chair for DG, but as DA and DG are going to meet jointly again, it applies to DA. TLDR: if you don’t plan to attend DM please consider cancelling your Thursday night reservation so that others can book in the room block. Thanks!

Subject: [802.3_SPEP2P] 802.3da/dg update for January

All – it is now pretty certain that 802.3da/dg is NOT meeting Thursday afternoon and Friday of the interim meeting week (and likely is only Monday / Tuesday).  We should have the meeting days finalized soon.

If you are not staying for 802.3dm on Friday, (or one of the other 802.3 groups) you may wish to release your hotel reservation for Thursday night (the 23rd), and possibly Wednesday the 22nd.  This would help others to book, as the room block is full.

Those who are preparing presentations for 802.3dg, please plan on being ready to present at least a week before the actual meeting.  In order to be efficient, and to build consensus, I would like to present material at an electronic meeting prior to the interim week and use our face-to-face meeting time to build consensus and make decisions.

We appreciate your cooperation, as we expect a busy week. 802.3da expects to be resolving comments on initial working group ballot, 802.3dg aims to substantially progress baselines, and 802.3dm strives to make progress on the detail of phy proposals presented in the last 2 meetings.  And this workload is added to by our two SPE-related study groups – EPCR (Ethernet power cabling restrictions), and POPI (pin optimized PHY interface)...
