And I have posted the updated file:
https://www.ieee802.org/3/ad_hoc/PDCC/public/11801_cable_reuse_082222.pdf. I have one reply of support and no other replies. We can avoid a meeting on Wednesday if I get more replies of support and none in opposition. Please get those to me by COB today.
Regards, Chad Jones Technical Leader, Cisco Systems Chair, IEEE P802.3da Task Force Principal, NFPA 70 CMP3 From: George Zimmerman <george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Chad – I support the presentation. Minor editorial on slide 9: Text below should be “result in engineered systems” rather than “results in an engineered systems”: It also looks like the “Future upgrade of a PSE” part should be a new subbullet – I’m fine either way with that. NEW INSTALLATIONS USING 0.75 A COMPONENTS
RESULTS IN AN ENGINEERED SYSTEMS VERSUS A PLUGAND- PLAY SYSTEM
AND WILL NOT BE FUTURE PROOF Future upgrade of a PSE could exceed the channel current capacity leading to potential damage •
Discourage use of 4P Cable for 1P Applications for new installations
I’m also fine with slide 14 in the backup, but can live without it and keep the arguments verbal. -george From: Chad Jones (cmjones) <00000b60b3f54e8d-dmarc-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
All, I have posted a newer version of the 802.3 contribution to SC25. I made the “mark-up” version that I will circulate to the 802.3 WG once we have agreement on the last few issues. Recall I sent email on
Wednesday asking for feedback by COB Monday 22 Aug. I’m looking for feedback regardless of if you support or oppose (with reasons). The new markup version is here:
https://www.ieee802.org/3/ad_hoc/PDCC/public/11801_cable_reuse_081922.pdf. The last things to settle are on slide 9 (was slide 8 in the 081722v2 version). If you recall my request on Wednesday, I also requested you review slide 14. I have deleted that slide
as it is covered in the subbullet on slide 10. If I get no feedback, I will be forced to hold the meeting on 24 Aug. Please get your feedback to me. Also, I have posted the minutes for the last meeting. Please review and let me know if there are any modifications required.
