Dear Ad Hoc Participants, The IEEE HSE Consensus Ad hoc will not be meeting at the IEEE 802 March Plenary Session in Orlando, FL, USA. Instead, a 400 Gb/s Ethernet Call For Interest will be occurring this week. (See http://www.ieee802.org/3/cfi/request_0313_1.html). Registration and meeting details may be found at http://802world.org/plenary/. You are strongly encouraged to make your reservations as soon as possible. To summarize the events of the week · On Monday March 18, I will get up in front of the IEEE 802.3 Working Group during the IEEE 802.3 Opening Plenary and make the Call-For-Interest. · On Tuesday evening (time TBD), a consensus presentation will be held that will be open to all of IEEE 802. · On Thursday at the IEEE 802.3 Closing Plenary, a motion will be made to form the 400 Gb/s Ethernet Study Group. · On Friday at the IEEE 802 EC, if the motion passes at the IEEE 802.3 Working Group Thursday, a motion would be made for the approval of the formation of the Study Group. Please note that the motion on Thursday at the IEEE 802.3 Working Group to form the Study Group has traditionally required > 50%. I would appreciate that all members of the ad hoc prepare to be there to support the request, and that all members with 802.3 voting rights be present to vote for the formation of the Study Group. This is an exciting step forward for our effort. I look forward to seeing everyone in Orlando, Fl. Regards, John D’Ambrosia Chair, IEEE 802.3 HSE Consensus Ad Hoc. |
