[STDS-802-3-BWA] 400GbE Status

All,

I want to give everyone an update on the progress of getting a 400GbE Study group approved. 

 

I just gave the closing report to the IEEE 802.3 Working Group, and the following motion was made:

 

Move the IEEE 802.3 Working Group authorizes the formation of a study group for “400 Gb/s Ethernet.”

•          M: John D’Ambrosia

•          S: Mark Nowell

•          >50%

•          802.3 Voters:     Y: 87       N: 0        A: 4

•          Motion Passes

 

So the next step will be approval by the IEEE 802 EC tomorrow.
