[802.3_NGECDC] Meeting Correction

All,

It was brought to my attention that schedules are listing that the Extended Reach Optical PMDs (which I have been referring to as “Beyond 10km”) is meeting tonight during the NEA Ad hoc meeting.  This is incorrect.

 

As noted in the 802.3 Opening Plenary,

• The Beyond 10km Optical PMD effort is not meeting, as I am looking to get new technical data that will not be available until after OFC next week.
• The Next Gen MMF effort will be meeting tonight.
• Discussion about 100 Gb/s Electrical and 800GbE will happen tonight.

 

In addition, the NEA needs to address the IMT-2020 liaison assigned by Mr. Law.

 

There is no set time schedule, but I do need to allow sufficient time for both efforts, allowing a little more time for the Next Gen MMF effort, as they have a CFI deck for consideration.  My expectation is that the 100 Gb/s Electrical Signaling discussion will not start before 8:30pm, but that will be dependent on the amount of discussion needed for the Next Gen MMF discussion.
