Sorry for the confusion using 802.3cg jargon.  PLCA is the ‘PHY level collision avoidance’ reconciliation sublayer in the draft of IEEE P802.3cg as clause 148.  
Please see the 802.3cg website public area for materials about PLCA, where there are tutorial materials.  If you wish to see where this request came from, be sure to look at the ad hoc area of the 802.3cg website:
http://www.ieee802.org/3/cg/public/adhoc , and especially see the presentations from yesterday’s (10/18) meeting regarding ‘comment 573’).

In the discussion yesterday, there was significant consensus that the best way to provide the functionality Don was requesting would be to investigate a new project - hence the NEA activity.

The title should have been at least Passing Priority to PLCA - when I emailed John, my fat fingers missed the ‘to’.
