[BP] Ballot results and next week's meeting

Title: Ballot results and next week's meeting

Colleagues,

The 5th recirculation ballot of IEEE P802.3ap closed July 10.  At the ballot close, the tally is as follows:

Voters: 200
Approve: 102
Disapprove: 11
Abstain: 27
Returns: 140

Response Rate: 70.00% (>= 50% required)
Approval Rate: 90.27% (>= 75% required)
Abstention Rate: 19.29% (< 30% required)

Five comments have been received against the draft.  In addtion, five late comments were also received.  Comment reports will be posted later this week.

The task force will meet Wednesday July 19 during IEEE 802 plenary week to address these comments and attend to administrative matters.  It is anticipated that approval to proceed to sponsor ballot will be requested at the 802.3 closing session on Thursday afternoon, so I strongly encourage you to attend the meeting and lend your support in moving this project forward.
