… which does not seem to be not within the scope of the project as of today. I’m not suggesting it cannot be done, but this solution does not address project goals: this will always remain 25Gx4, with maximum rate per ONU of 25G.

Marek,

 

 In fact, if we were locked down to 25G in the future, it would bring the need for a new standard sooner, which defeats I believe one of the requirements for scalable architecture up to 100G.

 

I’m not disarguing need for a scalable architecture capable of supporting 100G.  

 

I’m simply stating that once a first 25G is ‘full’, there are up to 3 more chunks of 25G to fill up, without needing to use 50G or 100G ONUs unless the customer is sold a service faster than 25G (thus requiring 50G ONU) or faster than 50G (thus requiring 100G ONU).
