Just a general question for the call today before we get into the discussion on technical merits of the proposal: what is the motivation for fragmentation in this case? I look at slide 10 and it does not strike me like it is really addressing any particular issues that we have not addressed already and it does add new ones we have side stepped with per-lane frame transmission.

 

I am just trying to understand what the motivation for adding this complexity really is.
