[802.3_NGEPON] IEEE 802.3 NEA Ad hoc - January Activities

All,

As announced at the Nov 2017 Closing Plenary, the IEEE 802.3 NEA Ad Hoc has received requests from the following individuals to consider the following three topics.

  1. Frank Effenberger - Higher rate P2P Ethernets for optical access, including the features of single-fiber working, silent start, power saving, and management
  2. Claudio DeSanti - Super-PON technologies: methods to scale fully passive optical access networks to longer reaches and to significantly higher numbers of subscribers
  3. Mark Laubach - EPON 50G serial rate for 50Gb/s (1x50G) and 100Gb/s (2x50G) full duplex, symmetric, service rates.

I am contacting the IEEE p802.3ca Task Force to make them aware of the above requests, and direct interested individuals to subscribe to the IEEE 802.3 NEA Reflector (see http://www.ieee802.org/3/ad_hoc/ngrates/reflector.html),  in order to participate in any conversations or be informed of the upcoming meeting.  Additionally, any interested individuals should contact the respective individuals to discuss their proposed topic or in regards to bringing information forward at the January Interim.

Please note details for the NEA Ad hoc meeting at the January Interim have not been announced yet.  Please make sure to subscribe to the reflector.

Regards,

John D’Ambrosia
