CU4HDD Task Force:
Geoff Thompson provided a transportation suggestion for those who are traveling from San Jose Airport (SJC)
to the Synopsys facility for the June 27th Interim meeting. (Thanks Geoff.)
He provided the transit schedule and route to facilitate a very cheap solution, using the local light rail.
This allows a cheaper, "fly-in-fly-out" solution for those not staying in town.
I attached several PDFs with this information.
But If you would like to check your own times, you can use the following:
- 511.org (Bay Area Transit - light rail)
- Start: SJC, San Jose
- End: 690 E. Middlefield Road, Mountain View
- Arrive By (pull-down): 8:30-ish (give yourself some leeway)
- Date: I used a Monday, May 16th; June doesn't appear as a choice yet..
- Fewest Transfers, 1/4 mile walk
- "Trip 2" in my attachments, seems to work the best.
- trains arrive about 15 minutes apart
- Cost: $2:00 US, for each section ($4 total, one way, $8 round trip)
- There is a mobile app for your phone: mobile app (or use m.511.org)
The meeting starts at 9:00 am, so try to be there a little early. The meeting will end sharply at 6:00 pm (if not sooner), for those trying to make traveling connections.
If you plan to make this a one day affair, you need to account for the transit time back to the airport. But at least, you wouldn't have any luggage to deal with.
Good Luck. Hope to see you there. I might see you on the train.
