Paul – I think you’re referring to a side-stream scrambler (1000BASE-T and 10GBASE-T training), vs. a ‘self-synchronizing’ scrambler (10GBASE-T). Looking at slide 7 of tu_3ch_01a_0918.pdf, which was adopted, I believe that the side-stream
